Nestling in glorious scenery in the Medina Valley south of Newport are the Isle of Wight’s biggest and best stillwater fly fishing lakes. From May 2020 one of these, Blackwater Lake, is now operated as a mixed fishery (fly fishing and coarse fishing techniques permitted). These are syndicate waters but four 'spaces' are available for residents of Marvel Cottage. If these are not taken up a limited number of day tickets may be available to non-syndicate members.
