Despite uncertainties about its future, Damerham Fisheries have come up trumps again this year. Two deliveries of fin perfect rainbow trout have been made with the usual mix of colours including the much admired and hard fighting blues and coppers.
Witer maintenance has been completed and has involved significant opening up of access points to the west bank of Shide Lake and to the northern and eastern banks of Blackwater Lake.
Acces opened, west bank Shide Lake
New access to parts of Blackwater Lake
Hedges cut and banks cleared
Fly life is beginning to move with substantial hatches of small black buzzers on sunny still days. Epoxy and Shipmans patterns have fished well but as usual at this time of the year it has sometimes been necesary to go deep with gold head nymphs and weighted bloodworm patterns.
Looking forward to spring and some arm wrenching fun!
